Record Prices At Newmarket
(Rec. 11.20 a.m.) LONDON, Dec. 6.
Ninety-two horses ware sold at Newmarket today for 31,555 guineas, making the week's total £865.740. or £289.355 in excess of the previous record.
Lord Durham paid 2400 guineas for the six-year-old The Witch by Sandwich from Miraculous. Last' Marsh she was given to the seller, Major J. Denistoun, to use as a hack. She had been covered by Legion of France.
