Greece Suspends Emergency Act
(Rec. 3.10 p.m.)7 ATHENS, Aug. 26. Athens radio announced that the Ministry of Justice has ordered immediate suspension of the Emergency Measures Act passed by the Tsaldaris Government in an effort to suppress terrorism by outlaws. Left wingers stormily protested against the act, which empowered military courts in northern districts to pass death sentences executable in less than three days.
