Week-End Accidents
KILLED INSTANTLY.—A seven-vear-old girl was killed instantly when a truck in which she was riding hit a telegraph pole on the main highway at Totara, two miles from the Thames Post Office, at 7.45 p.m. on Saturday. She was: Millicent Lillian Ann Allwood, daughter of Mr Albert Frederick Allwood, of Turua. FATAL SHOCK. —A carpenter received a fatal shock when he came into contact with an electric wire while working on the roof of a house at 2 Nikau Road. Otahuhu. on Saturday morning. He was: Mr Norman Leslie Karam, married, aged 37. of. Great South Road. Otahuhu. TWO MEN KILLED.— WhiIe travelling from Fairlie to Cave early on Saturday morning, a truck containing six men failed to take a bend in the road at Winscombe. ran into a deeo drain and hit a willow tree. Two of the men were killed and the others injured. Those killed were: Mr Daniel Francis Leary, aged 30. single, of Totara Valley. Mr William Sugrue, aged 24. single, of Rhodes Street, Timaru.
