French Withdraw From Siam
(Rec. 1.30 p.m.) BANGKOK. May 31
United States and Siamese official observers returning to Bangkok from the Indo-China border report that all French forces have withdrawn across the Mekong River and the frontier is quiet.
The observers said the French shelling caused considerable damage. One Siamese, seven Annamese and 20 Laos troops were killed in clashes on Mav 24 and 26.
Bangkok newspapers estimate that the invasion caused 1.000.000 dollars' worth of damage.
