Siamese Ex-Premier Released From Arrest
(11.30 a.m.) BANGKOK, Mar. 24. On an order of the Bangkok High Court. Marshal Pibul Songgram, who was Prime Minister of Siam during the Japanese occupation and who declared war against the Allies in 1942. was released today from the house arrest under which he was placed last October while war crime charges were being prepared.
The court ordered the release of all prisoners held on war crimes charges co the ground that the War Crimes Act could not be applied retrospectively.
