Solves House Problem With £3OO Homes

(Special) ASHBURTON. Tin's Day An Ashburton sawmillcr. Mr. A. J. Break well, believes he has found a temporary solution of the housing problem.

He is making three-roomed houses with pinus insignis for £250 to £3OO, of which £ 100 is for electrical and other fittings. The houses can be built in about a fortnight. Mr. Brcakwell is providing these, houses for his workers.

The buildings measure 20ft. by 15ft. and are complete with electrical fittings, including heat storage ranges,

GREEN TIMBER

The timber is green pinus, milled at the right time. Two coats of paint are applied, and about six weeks later putty is applied if required.

The interiors are of pinex board.

Mr. Breakwell thinks that when tiiese houses have served the purpose of relieving tho temporary shortage of houses they would admirably meet the needs of pensioners, who do not require anything too large or pretentious on account of the labour and money involved in maintenance.
