Cigarette Shortage Holds Ship
(P.A.) AUCKLAND, This Day. Dissatisfaction of the crew of a Canadian wheat ship with the cigarette supply aboard led to their refusal to sail for Lyttelton this morning, and although further trouble was avoided, the vessel now will not leave until tomorrow morning.
The ship was the Park Line steamer Sunnyside Park, which arrived from Vancouver on December 14, and was to have sailed for Lyttelton to complete discharge this morning. Members of the crew, however, refused to work until they were issued with extra cigarettes. Negotiations followed with the local agents, the Union Steamship Company, and the matter was settled, the men agreeing !;o sail tomorrow morning.
