Eric Mareo Asks For Extension Of Time
(P.A.) WELLINGTON, This Day A motion has been filed at the office of the Court of Appeal in Wellington cn behalf of Eric Mareo, aged 53. musician, at presont serving a life sentence for the murder of his wife, asking for an extension of time to apply for to appeal. The motion was based on the grounds that the Criminal Appeal Amendment became law on December 7 and the right of appeal only then became available by virtue of, the Act. Mareo's wife died in the Auckland hospital in April, 1935, the cause of death being stated as veronal poisoning.
