Heavy Passenger Traffic Oil Railways
Holiday traffic on the railways has by no means reached its peak. Yesterday, when the daily express to Auckland was reintroduced, very few passengers travelled. The express to Auckland today was heavily booked and 200 through passengers travelled from Otiria. Another 150 passengers from Whangarei made a full train.
It is anticipated that Saturday and Monday will be the heaviest days for travel.
