Omahutu Gift Afternoon

A very pleasant function was held at the residence of Mrs J. V. M, Cauty on Saturday. This was a gift afternoon tendered by local ladies to Miss D. Williams. whose marriage takes place shortly. For three years Miss Williams has been teacher at the local school. A number of interesting competitions were held, a ‘memory test’ being won by Mrs W. H. Robinson and a menu guessing' one by Mrs T. C. Smith. A musical quiz, presented by Mrs C. M. Robertson, was won by Mrs Max Cochrane. Mrs A. Corby, oit behalf of the local ladies, presented the guest of honour with a bouquet, while Shirley Maxwell was chosen by her school friends to present their teacher with a bouquet from the children of the schoool. Mrs Corby conveyed to Miss Williams the best wishes of all for her future happiness, and asked her to accept the numerous gifts as a token of esteem. The afternoon closed with honours to the guest.
