Mutual Tiredness
(Special) AUCKLAND. This Day. "Wi; feel that tho general public is getting' very tired of this asking each month,” stated the Victoria League, in a letter discussing street collections, which was read at a meeting ot the executive of the Auckland Metropolitan Patriotic Committee. “It is the same people, generally businessmen, who give. Collections will not. in cur opinion, be an overwhelming success.”
“People are getting tired.. I know, but so are the men that this money is to support,” said the chairman (Mr. G. W Hutchison).
Several aspects of street collections were discussed and it was decided to leave the matter in the hands cl a sub-committee.
