Kamo Representation On N.A. Power Board
'Pile llikurangi Town Board wrote to the North Auckland Klectric-power board Yesterday strongly objecting to any alteration in the existing method of appointing representatives as affecting Hiktirargi and Kamo town districts. The board .stated as its considered opinion that Kamo was entitled to representation through the. Whnngarei County. At a previous meeting of the Power Board a letter was received from the Kamo Town Board asking to be included in the llikurangi area. The Whangart i County Council also wrote stating it was in agreement with this request,. In support, of its objection the Hikuraugi Town Board stated that the Whangarei County Council, Dargaville borough Council and the Hikurangi Town Board were the originators in the formation ol the North Auckland Power Board, and on the board being established were constituted guarantors accordingly. At tilts tithe Kamo Town Board was not interested in this most important transaction, receiving power from Whangarei. Mae Kay said Mr. Cochrane was quite wrong in saying the Kamo people were dissatisfied with the appointment of Mr. Clarke. Their objection was to the method of appointment. Proceeding, Mr. MaelCay said lie regretted very much that: Mr. Cochrane and his board should object to the request of the Kamo Town Board. They had submilted no valid objection. At this stage, Mr. A. MucKny withdrew his motion in favour of Air. Appleton's amendment, which became the motion.

Mr. A. Clarke and the chairman supported the motion, which wtis carried. At today's meeting of the Whangarei Countv Council, a reply was received from the Minister for Public Works stating that action is being taken to give effect to the representations made by the council and the North Auckland Power Board.
