(R»c. 1 p.m.) MELBOURNE, This Dnv. The Royal Australian Navy, since the war began, lias suffered 2422 casualties, comprising 1327 deaths, including 167 caused by sickness and accident, 2.10 wounded, 532 missing, and 333 prisoners of war. This statement lias been issued by the Minister for the Navy (Mr. Makin) to clear up a misunderstanding caused by figures quoted by the Minister for the Army (Mr. Fordo), which gave the number of deaths in action suffered by the Navy as 335.
