The Minister for Defence (Mr Jones), has received advice from the Admiralty that the King has approved the award of “mentioned in despatches"' to Temporary Lieutenant Murray Lawrence Heath, R.N.Z.N.V.R., for good service in the air at the landings at Salerno. His father is Mr L. Heath, of Nelson. Lieut. Heath joined the R.N.Z.N. in 1941 as a naval airman, was promoted temporary sublieutenant in 1942 and temporary lieutenant in 1943. He was born at Ngatimoti, in 1916. and before joining the navy was tobacco farming.
