M.M. For Kaitaia Soldier
Although no official advice has been received. Mrs. E. J. Brennan, Kaitaia, has received an intimation that her husband. L./Cpl. E. Brennan, has been awarded the Military Medal. Prior to enlisting, L./Cpl. Brennan was employed by the Post and Telegraph Department at Kaitaia. He left New Zealand for overseas in June, 1943, and is at present serving in Italy.
Fastest—The North American aviation company has announced that the War Department has allowed it to disclose that the Mustang fighter is the world's fastest aeroplane capable of a speed of over 425 miles an hour and a tactical radius of action of 500 miles and ceiling of over 40,000 fe§t. ’ ' ’ " '
