Another Teacher for Kaikohe

Kaikohe District High School has now attained the requisite number on its sec endary roil to be granted the services of another teacher. Harbour Rescue

Stating that the launch was the means of giving assistance to a yacht crew which had capsized, the secretary of the Whangarei Cruising Club thanked the Whangarei Harbour Board yesterday for the loan of the launch “Kumi” for the regatta held on January 2. Rationing of Meat The Whangarei postmaster advises that supplies of meat ration coupons were received at the post office this mornkng and the issue was immediately commenced at the Town Hall. The hours on Saturdays will be 9 a.rr>. to noon; Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 5.30 p.m. Ration books of the current issue are required to obtain a meat ration card. Personal application is not necessary; a householder may present all the ration books for all his household. As meat rationing commences on March 6, early application at the Town Hall is advisable.
