Step To Crush Axis Spearheads la Chile
LONDON. January 16. The Chilean Government has issued a decree calling for the imposition of strict controls of business houses, banks and insurance companies controlled by the Axis in Chile, reports the Santiago correspondent of the Associated Press. The tremendous economic power of these organisations, 1 chiefly German, has long constituted a problem in Chile's efforts to cooperate completely with the United Nations. The decree is regarded in diplomatic circles as a most effective step in crushing spearheads of Axis economic propaganda and espionage activities in Chile.
