Sink Japanese Ships
CHUNGKING. January 16. General Stilweil’s communique says that Liberators attacked and probably sank a 1100-ton gun-boat and a 2700ton freighter on the South China coast. Mitchells bombed and damaged Japanese installations at Weighow Island, in the Gulf of Tonking. All our pianes returned. An American raid on Formosa is announced in a Delhi communique from General Stilwell. Liberators of the 14th U.S.A.A.F. on Tuesday night dropped 12 tons fo bombs, starting large fires. They pneountered intense ground fire. On the next night, American planes raided Bangkok, dropping 15 tons of bombs. An aerodrome at Bangkok was also attacked.
