Girls’ Life Brigade’s Successful Pageant

A very impressive pageant, “Calling Youth,” was the central feature of a fine programme presented' at the annual demonstration of ~ the"" Girls’ Life Brigade, held at the Presbyterian Church Hall last evening in the presence of a large and appreciative audience. The pageant consisted of four sections—social, physical, educational and spiritual. Yola Swindells was the narrator of the story, and Ailsa Mitchell_iilled the role of Britannia. Incidental to the spiritual section were solos beautifully sung by Gwen Weston and Margaret Fyfe. A capable pianist was Muriel Fyfe, and individual contributors were Mavis McNaughtcn, Betty Brown, Gwen Morgan, Dorothy Nicholls and Florence Turner. Miss K. Pickmere inspected a large parade of the Girls’ Life Brigade, and afterwards presented the following awards won by girls during the year.
