N.S.W. Miners Resent Daylight Saving
SYDNEY, This Day.
Claiming the daylight savings prevents them getting proper sleep in the hot weather, members of four lodges on the northern coalfields of New South Wales have decided to start work “by the sun” and not “by the clock.”
The Prime Minister (Mr Curtin) warned the miners that'daylight saving, which starts at 2 a.m. tomorrow is the law, and must not be defied. Complete disorganisation will result unless the miners attend for work under daylight saving time.
