Customs Revenue
(Special) AUCKLAND, This Day. Although the total revenue received at Auckland by the Customs Department last month declined by £24,359, compared with September, 1942, sales tax increased by £6402 to £110,396. This was only £l4ll short of the record sales tax collection of £111,807, made in May, 1940. Customs duty collected was £48.555 less than for September last year. For the nine months of the''present year customs decreased by £111,738, compared with the same period last year, and sales tax decreased by £14,006. Excise on beer increased by £38,224.'
