Canadian Destroyer Lost
OTTAWA. October 1. The Canadian destroyer St. Croix has been torpedoed ancl sunk with the loss of 146 on convoy duty. The Associated Press says that this announcement by the Navy Minister gave no details but it: is recalled that Mr Churchill in a House of Commons speech on September 21 said that; an Atlantic convoy was under attack at that moment.
