Abut the nominion President (Mr. W. W.j ; Mtdholland) had made a request that the Farmers’ I’nion should take no part ini ! implementing the Land Sales Act. The president said that the question 1 -hould be discussed carefully. -They •hotild not arrive at a hasty decision from which they might have to retreat. In roplv to a remark by .Mr. V. Simms POtorohanga) on the question or members | !>f the Union accenting- positions on Rejhabilitation Committees, the president ■ said that these committees at present were not operating the Land Sales Act. ’.Members of the Union who were occupying positions on Rehabilitation Commit- ' tees should retain them for the time i being and until their duties clashed with ! their obligations to..fellow-farmers. Instruction Endorsed After considerable discussion, Mr. Furi niss moved, and Mr. A. .1. Campbell i (Waikind) seconded: “That this execu- ! live endorses the instruction from the i Dominion Executive, and. subject to rati- ' fication by that executive, calls upon all members of the union in the Auckland , Province to decline nomination to any Land Sales Committee or Court that may !be established to implement the Act." 1 Mr. A. E. Bryant (Te Awamutu) moved 1 the following amendment: "That this ; Provincial Executive declines to nominj ate any member of the union to serve |on any Land Sales Committee or Court established to implement the Act.” This | was lost. Mr. Furniss's motion was then carried. ! On the motion of Mr. A. Briscoe Monro I JWhangarei), seconded by Mr. J. W. j Jones (Pakarnka), it was decided not to | make any public announcement of the j resolution until after September 25,
