Agents Do Not Dread Land Sales Act
(Special) AUCKLAND, This Day. In a report to be presented to the annual j meeting of the Auckland branch of the I Real Estate Institute of New Zealand to-1 morrow, the president (Mr. R. S. New-! comb), referring to the Services Settle-1 ment Act, states that this legislation is entirely new to New Zealand and, though it is difficult to judge at present what effect the Act will have on property sales, the committee of the institute did not consider that some of the dismal fore-j bodings were justified. The committee j had favoured deferring conservation of the Bill, but unfortunately this course was! net acceptable to the Government. While; generally in agreement with the purposes' of the Bill, the committee felt that the; time- available was too short for reasoned! 'criticism or to provide alternative sug-j igestions. Maybe there would be delays at!' ithe commencement in getting the consent! ;of various committees, but as the latter! gained experience, it was anticipated that, anv delays would be minimised.
