The licensing poll resulted as follows totals being only provisional as 12 district totals are still incomplete and the forces votes are to be added): Continuance 416656 State Control 102866 Prohibition 231317 The poll for local -restoration was taken in the 12 no-licence areas. Forces votes are not yet available. The position remains unaltered and the only place where results may be close when all votes are in, is Invercargill where the vote was: Restoration 6542, No licence 4954. A three-fifths majority is necessary to reverse the present conditions of no-licence.
