Stettinius New U.S. Under-Secretary For State
NEW YORK. Sept. 2C,
President Roosevelt has announced that the Under-Secretary for State (Mr. Sumner Welles) has resigned, and will be succeeded by the Lend-Lease Administrator (Mr. Stettinius). He added that Mr. Welles desired to be relieved of his heavy duties owing to his wife’s health.
