Beaufighters Attack Convoy Off Dutch Coast
LONDON, September 26.
A medium-sizod merchant vessel was hit by a torpedo when Coastal Command Beaufighters, escorted by Spitfire's, attacked a large enemy convoy off the Dutch coast today. Escorting vessels were' also attacked with cannon and machine-gun fire. The Beaufighters encountered stiff opposition, several pilots saying that they had never seen so much tracer before. Two Beaufighters are missing.
