Independence Of Philippines Mooted
(Rec. 2.30 p.m.) WASHINGTON, Sept. 24. Senator Tydings introduced a joint resolution to grant immediate full independence to the Philippines. The United Press says the resolution is ,a move aimed at blocking Japanese plans to give the Philippines a “phoney” independence. and has White Hpuse approval. President Quezon hailed the resolution as the best, wisest and noblest measure Congress could pass at this time regarding the Philippines.
