Five Disappear in Sea On Training Flight
(P.A.) WELLINGTON. This Day. Five members of the Royal New Zealand Air Force were involved in an aircraft accident near a North Island station yesterday morning, and are believed to have lost their iives. They were:— Pilot-Officer Harold Hayward Beard, Kimbolton. Flight-Sergeant William Marshall, Waiuku. Sergeant William James Plant. Auckland. Sergeant John Francis Aubrey. Si.l- - Sergeant Brian Barry McSweeney, Ngatapa. The aircraft, which was engaged in a training flight, dived steeply into the sea approximately three miles offshore and, despite the most extensive searches, no trace of wreckage or the occupants was found.
