Lamest From Rome
LONDON, August 23. “Italians are in an awful mess,” says Rome radio. “We have no great cause to fight for. We are just fighting for cur skins. It is a damn tough fight. “At one moment we arc appealed to and cajoled, then we are menaced and insulted, and we are called quitters, pawns, back-stabbers and starry-eyed: innocents. Maybe we are all that. On the other hand we are simply a hard-working lot. who have had an unpleasant experience and now are| resolved to set our house in order.; Meanwhile we would be pleased ifj someone told us what everybody is, fightng about, who is fighting whom, and why?”
