Filipino Slaves
HONOLULU. August 21. Several Filipinos picked up by a United States vessel after 32 days at sea in a stolen Japanese fishing boat, said that people who had not lived under the Japanese did not know how thankful they should be. The Japanese had raided homes, taking food and money, and had then made men, women and children work for starvation rations. The Filipinos were not co-operating but were awaiting the time to strike back.
