R.A.F. Bombing In Burma
(8.0. W., 1.30 p.m.) RUGBY, Aug. 20. An India communique states that on Thursday a R.A.F. Mohawk attacked ,3 town on the Chindwin River, north of Kalena. Bombs were dropped in the target area and many buildings' were hit. Buildings and river craft were machine-gunned and four sampans sunk at Ramaree Island. Bombs were dropped on Kyaukpyu, and buildings were demolished and sampans damaged by machine-gun fire. In the course of a moonlight offensive patrol on Wednesday night, a 50-foot river steamer and sampans on the Kiladam River were sunk. None of our aircraft is missing.
