Maungakaramea
Mrs Finch, of Whangarei. was the speaker at a meeting of the Gardening Circle over which Mrs J. P. Crawford presided on Thursday. Mrs Finch, who brought a large collection of plants and shrubs, gave valuable information relative to the growing and cultivation m these and__other fruits of the soil. She was given a hearty vote of thanks. The hostesses were Mesdames S. Purdon. A. V. Babe. Goodenough and Miss H. Walker. At a meeting "of the W.C.T.U. the following gave reports on the recent conference at Dargaville. Mesdames Purdon. Weir. Gillingham, Goodenough and Walker. . Mrs Mann, of Auckland, has been visiting Mrs Litt. Mr and Mrs J. Martin have left the district to reside at Clevedon, and Mr James Walker and family have taken up residence at Whatitiri.
