R.S.A. Stock Drive
Expressing the opinion that the R.S.A. Gift Stock Scheme had been advanced further in this district than in any other part cf the Dominion. Mr. ,7. G. Earciay told the Whangarei Rehabilitation Committee on Saturday night that he would go into the question of keeping out of the bill of sale on soldier mortgages this class cf stock and their progeny. He had just discussed the matter with the president of the Whangarei branch, R.S.A., and he was taking it up with the department. Ke did not consider it would be difficult to keep the gift stock out of bills of sale, but it might be a very difficult matter to keep out the progeny. He was strongly in favour of keeping out all the stock if this were possible. ‘ 'Mr. J. W. -Parkin: The R.S.A. is hoping to have a special brand for all gift stock. The chairman: The scheme is a wonderful one. Mr. Barclay: More has been done in this district than in any other in New Zealand that I know of. Somewhat similar schemes are operating elsewhere. Being a local scheme, with only limited restrictions, makes it more effective; •? •
