Bombings In Burma

(8.0. W., 11.45 a.m.) RUGBY, July 25. An India communique states: "Yesterday the R.A.F. kept up an attack on Japanese transportation in different parts of Burma. Beaulighters hit G 5 river-craft between Prome and Zibyufin. They set fire to factory buildings, damaged a number of storage tanks and shot up some large river-boats. Hurricanes sank one supply sampan, damaged about 16 others at Hunter’s Bay and machine-gunned a 30-ton launch at Akyab. Other fighter patrols made low-level attacks on enemyoccupied villages and huts in the Kaletyo area and some three-ton lorries in Arakanhone which were destroyed. This morning a formation of Blenheims bombed the Panktau-Akyab area. Several hits were observed on large storage buildings and other parts of the target area. None of our aircraft is missing.”
