DELAY IN INCREASES FOR HOSPITAL STAFFS
It is to be regretted that the board has been blamed for something over which it has no control, said the chairman (Mr. Alan Moody) at a meeting of the hospital board when explaining why nurses and others at the iiospital had not received increases in salaries in accordance \.ith the board’s decision some months ago. ±. \ Moody said that the board had done a., in its power in the matter, but approval for the increases rested with the Economic Stabilisation Commission in Wellington, from whom advice had long been awaited.
