R.N.Z.A.F. CASUALTY LIST
The Air Department reports that FlyingOfficer Arthur Joseph Hyams. of Wellington, has been reported missing on air operations in the Pacific on the night of Tune 25. Flying-Officer Ilyams was with .he ICth Squadron. The following R.N.Z.A.F. personnel have also been reported missing on operations on June 27 in the South Pacific: —Sergeant Michael James Horgan, of Blenheim; Flight-Sergeant George Ernest Billson. of Christchurch; Sergeant Albert Lewis Moss, of Oamaru; Flying-Officer Alistair Tanetoa Parata, of Dunedin; and Sergeant Egbert Brian Willis, of Wellington. These five men were members of a bomber type aircraft engaged on patrol which is believed to have ianded in the sea at approximately 9.30 p.m. on June 27 The position of the aircraft some minutes before landing had been ascertained by signals and a comprehensive search was at once instituted. So far no trace of the aircraft or personnel has been found.
