Tauraroa Quarry Manager Transferred
Mr A. A. Lee, for (he past 19 years quarry manager at Tauraroa' and well known in Northland, has l-oceived advice of his transfer to Auckland District. Yestci-day afternoon members of the Public Works staff gathex-ed to wish him farewell and the acting-District Engineer (Mr W. L. Bell), Mr A. C. Jenkins and Mr W. A. Mardcn spoke of his capable management of the quarry with its large output without loss of life, and the cooperation they had received at all times and expressed regret at his departure. Mr Bell, on behalf of the staff, presented Mr Lee with a smoker’s stand, wishing him a very happy future and. in appreciation of hospitality received from Mrs Lee, an electric kettle. Mr Lee replied suitably, relating several humorous episodes in past years and thanking the staff on behalf of his wife and himself.
