TWO YEARS IN BORSTAL
Two years’ detention at a Borstal institution was imposed on Florence Rose Serbin, an 18-year-old girl, bv Mr. Raymond Ferner, S.M., at yesterday's sitting of the Magistrate's Court. Serbin, who did not appear, was charged with the theft , *of 10/-, the property of Vivian Marsh. Sergeant R. E. McGettigan said Serbin had been going from one job to another, and was out late at nights. She was leading an unsatisfactory life. Her father was in the army and she apparently did not agree with her mother. “There has been a lot done for her by past and present probation officers, but something else will have to be done,’’ said Mr. Ferner in imposing sentence.
