U.A.O.D. Holds Big Meeting

The fortnightly meeting of the Druids’ Lodge was held on June 22, A.D. Bro. McDonald presiding over a very large attendance of members. There were also present a large number of visitors, also the D.P. from No. 28 District. The lodges represented by visitors were Wairoa (1). Northern Oak (7), Pacific (1). Waitemata (1), Ponsonby (2), Ruatanuohu (1), Rotorua (1). There were also present many members of the Armed Forces from various lodges throughout the country. The mam feature of the meeting was a visit of three Grand Lodge members—the G.L., Bro. Harper; J.G.P., Bro. Abel; and P.G.P., Bro. Gregory. During the meeting the Grand President strongly advised the formation of a juvenile lodge. Bro. Abel, senior trustee for Grand Lodge, gave an account of the investments of the Grand Lodge. He said all investments w r ere sound, and the finances of the Grand Lodge in a healthy and prosperous condition. P.G.P. Bro. Gregory spoke of the social side of the Order, and showed that more than pecuniary relief was the object of the institution.

After supper, harmony was enjoyed, and the toast-list was of a very interesting nature.
