Jones Visits N.Z. Air Trainees In Canada
(P.A.) WELLINGTON. This Day. A message from a special correspondent at Ottawa on June 26 states that the New Zealand Minister for Defence (Mr Jones j has been greatly impressed with the new .methods and ingenious apparatus installed in various Canadian stations established under the air training plan. He has also been impressed by the high standard of accommodation and recreational facilities for trainees. He found that station commanders are men of good type who show the keenest interest in the welfare of the pupils. Weather intorefered with Mr Jones itinerary but in the last seven days he covered almost 4CGO miles by plane. He visited nine widely-separated centres at which there are New Zealanders. At one of these 210 men paraded.
Commanding officers expressed the utmost satisfaction with the high standard reached by New Zealand trainees. Mr Jones is continuing his tour and will visit other stations where New Zealanders are located.
