Middle East Transport
(8.0. W.) RUGBY. April 8. The Minister for State (Mr Casey) opened the first conference of experts on motor transport in the Middle East, says a Cairo message. Delegates of all countries concerned were present. Mr Casey said that the fighting services could easily and profitably employ all new vehicles which could he added to the Dool but movements of food and fuel fot the people, manufactured goods and needs of personal transport must continue to have their share.
As it. was impossible to increase the total amount of transport the fighting services must give up part of what they required so that civilian needs could be met. He believed the transport problem would become even more difficult.
