Flyger suggests the organising of the

eminent to pay a guaranteed price which would enable them to pay

their employees, and to at least receive as much reward for their labour as other sections of the community I can scarcely believe it is the sarr.c.- IVEr Flyger who, while discussing politics, asserted that the dairyfarmers were never better off in their lives than they are now. _ This was but a few short weeks ago. I sincerely believe that Mr Flyger was never better off in his life, but not so 95 per cent of the farmers.

May I ask Mr Flyger if he is seeking to organise the farmers as a means of securing a more comparable reward for their labour, or is he seeking to show his appreciation to the Labour Government by working for their return to power,, because I would remind him that the farmers are organised, and that their representatives have been trying for years to get the Government to pay the farmers a compensating price, which the Government have stubbornly refused. Mr Flyger was an active member of the Farmers’ Union while it was working for the compensating price, and he declared at the same time that the farmers were never better off in their lives. Mr Flyger glibly talks about getting behind the dairyfarmer, but I believe it is mainly through him and other Labour Party members capturing the union branches, that the farmers of New Zealand are the low-est-paid in all the English-speaking countries—J. CROMPTON (Ruakaka).
