Methodists Achieve Centenary Goal

In 1940 the Meth'odist Church set out to establish a special Centenary Fund of £IOO.OOO. Ii was announced at the Methodist Conference on Saturday that all but £135 had been raised. The church intends to establish a Maori girls’ college in Taranaki with this money in redemption of a promise by the first Wesleyan missionaries in that province to the tribes of the district over a century ago.
