(Received 1 p.m.) WASHINGTON, December 20. A Navy communique reports that Navy Douglas Dauntless dive-bombers on Saturday, with Wildcat escort, attacked Japanese installations in the Munda area. New Georgia. Several buildings were set on fire and destroyed.

Army Flying Fortresses, with Lockheed Lightning escort, also attacked enemy positions in Munda and started several fires. Three of 20 Japanese Zeros attempting to intercept were destroyed. No American planes were lost.
