Masked Man Gets Probation

(Special) AUCKLAND, This Day. After being almost two weeks in custody on remand, having pleaded guilty to a charge which deemed him to be a rogue and vagabond, in that he was found at Orakei by night with his face masked and wearing rubber sandshoes, with felonious intent, Harold Francis Beverly Fogden (32), soldier and carpenter, appeared for sentence before Mr J. H. Luxford, S.M., in the Police Court.

After perusing a report from the psychiatrist -who had examined Fogden, the magistrate told accused that it appeared he could correct his trouble if he wished to do so. Fogden was admitted to probation for two y ears.

Mr Luxford told him he would have strictly to obey the conditions that would be imposed by the probation officer.
