Army. Rep. Cricket
In preparation for a representative match between Ist Division and Northern Military District, which is to be played at Eden Park on Christmas and Boxing days, two trial matches are being held at Kensington Park on Sunday. Following these the team to represent Ist Division will be selected. The Divisional troops eleven to play Bay of Islands and Fortress troops is:— Second-Lieut. Meltzer (capt.),. Dvr. Holiday (7th Comp. Coy.), C.S.M. Hannam (Field Amb.), Pte. Morris, Pte. Collings (Div. H.Q.), Spr. Easson (Engineers), Lieut. Coates. (Div. Sigs.), Gnr. Butler, Gnr. Arblaster, Gnr. Blackie and Sgt. Jones (vice-capt.), (Field Regt.). Reserves: 1 Dvr., Speechly (7th Comp. Coy.), Dvr. Macrea (Field Amb.). Of the above Meltzer, Jones, Halliday, Morris, Collings, Coates, Butler, Arblaster are Auckland senior players, while the remainder have played high grade competition and secondary school cricket in the city. ]
