Christmas Pantomime For Children, Adults
In its first dress rehearsal, “Jack and the Beanstalk,” which is to be presented in the Whangarei Town Hall for three nights at the beginning of next week, showed that a fine entertainment will be provided. Although based on one particular fairy story and incorporating in the first half other fairy stories, the pantomime is not merely a show for children. Adults will find plenty of entertainment and enjoyment to merit their attendance. A representative of the “Northern Advocate” who last night watched the first dress rehearsal found that the pantomime will cater for all ages and all tastes. Children play a considerable nart in the first half of the programme but, except for individual items, they mainly supply the background for the story and assist the main artistu An excellent cast has been chosen and some will be making their first appearance on the stage. In singing, dancing and humour and with fine dressing the pantomime has everything to commend it to adults and children and patriotic funds ghojild benefit greatly from the four stagings on three nights and one afternoon.
