Commonwealth Air Training Scheme Praised

;Rec. 1 p.m. 8.0. W.) RUGBY, Dec. 17. His Majesty the King, in a message to the Canadian Prime Minister (Mr Mackenzie King) on the third anniversary of the Commonwealth air training plan said that the rapid development of the plan was perhaps the most striking effort Canada had made in so many directions towards victory. “I, having seen for myself some of the energy and organising ability of the Canadians, have always been confident that the plan would more than fulfil the high hopes centred in it.”

Mr King issued a statement emphasising that perhaps only after the Allies had achieved final victory would the extent of the contribution of the air training plan be realised. He expressed pride and satisfaction at the past achievements of the scheme, adding: “We must press forward with renewed vigour and unremitting endeavour until we have available an: overwhelming number of trained fighters.” Mr-Churchill . and Mr Mackenzie King also exchanged messages.
