400,000 Australians Help Austerity Loan

Australia’s £ 100,000,000 Austerity Loan, which closed on Tuesday, has been over-subscribed by from £3,000,000 to £4,000,000. Only £220,000,00 of this money has been raised by conversion. Trading banks made no subscriptions to the loan, but savings banks were large contributors. The total subscribers are estimated to number more than 40,000, by far the biggest number ever to subscribe to a loan In Australia.
